Poem: Never to Look in a Mirror

Never to Look in the Mirror

What if there were no mirrors?

I met some kids yesterday who never looked in a mirror and when i showed them one they were amazed. I realized something and wrote a poem:

If you never looked in the mirror
There would be nothing to fear
Nor Feelings that needed care

If you never saw your face
Loved ones would be simple to trace
And strangers would have no race

If you did not think about your features
Your thoughts would be your teacher
And happiness for all around -
Just a simple creature

  1. Thank you for this. Love this one.

Souls as pure as theirs surely don’t need mirrors. For they know that if they wanted to see who they truly are, all they need to do is stare into the face of the person standing next to them. WE are ALL mirrors of each other. They know. Their eyes and their smiles let me know that they know.
